Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at 5:00 pm. We’ll meet on the corner of Hwy 38 and 286 and clean the ditches 5 miles to Hayslip’s in Talmoon. We’ll gather at the Timberwolf after and have hamburgers (each person is responsible for their own supper)
We need drivers who are willing to pick up people and transport them back to their vehicles. We also need pick-ups or a trailer to haul bags to the pick-up station.

They have requested that each of the neighboring clubs have representatives attending who will greet people after the governor’s ride. At this point, we don’t know if the governor’s ride will be February 13th or 14th.
We need to decide where to have the Christmas party this year. Last year we had it at the Logger’s Inn. It’s always a good time with the opportunity to meet with our land owners.
Our winter weekend was great last year at Kec’s Kove on Lake Kabetogama. It was suggested to me to pursue staying at the AmericInn in Orr this coming year. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. In order to book what we want with a price that’s reasonable, we need to book in October or November. The rates have been increased everywhere. Many of the resorts won’t book for 2 nights on February 14th weekend, and the Rendezvous is the same weekend. I am thinking of the weekend before which would be February 6th.
Our club house needs a good cleaning. (And some interior work) Anyone willing to put in some time there would be appreciated.
Thanks to Mike Hughes who offered to write grants for our club. In the past we’ve missed some opportunities for grants that keep the club operating.
We need people who are willing to go out on the trails and give Jim Jackson a hand cleaning and checking trails. Jim works very hard on our trails and deserves our appreciation and support.
We will need to re-route at least 2 trails that run through Jason Ritter’s and Nick Kinn’s properties.
During the summer, Jack Hillstrom, Archie Wass and Ray Hubbard met and discussed the repair on the John Deere groomer. We received $ 5,000 from Vogel and will receive the remainder repair money from a grant after the wheel replacement is complete. Marcel Grooming Equipment has agreed to come down with the newly designed wheels toward the end of October and teach the people using the machine how to maintain and check the new wheel system alignment. He requests that the whole grooming crew be present to install the wheels, and fully understand the system. Marcel will be coming himself, and staying for a couple of days to make sure all is working properly. He said, (verbally) that he would write up a warrantee to guarantee that the manufacturing of the system is without fault.
We hope that God will provide us with enough of that white, fluffy stuff to really test the equipment and have trails that we can be proud of.
It was suggested that we have club day rides. Some people in the club won’t be able to attend the weekend ride, so anyone who is willing to organize a couple of day rides, or even an overnight ride, let me know so I can print the dates.
