December 2006 Newsletter

It’s time to get our gear and sleds in order so we can enjoy our Minnesota winter!!
Our meetings will be on schedule again at the clubhouse on the 2nd Monday of each month at 6:30 pm.

Christmas party: Will be held at Richie’s on Highway 38, December 16, 2006 at 5:30 pm. A special invitation is extended to our landowners as our guests for dinner.

Our annual meeting was a success with Elmer Cone as our guest speaker. We enjoyed crackers, cheeses, tasted several wines, and voted for new officers.
Jim Kelich……………President
Ray Hubbard…………Vice President
Zona Kinn……………Treasurer
Jane Hillstrom……….Secretary
“Gus” Carlson……….Director
Jim Oestreich………..Director
Jim Jackson ………..Trail Coordinator
Assistant Trail Coordinator.... Two crews. One will be responsible for the North of Marcell Trail system, and one for the South of Marcell Trail system. Each crew member will report to Jim Jackson

“Thank you” Ken Truebenbach as the outgoing vice-president for your term of service and for all of your help.
“Thank you” to Ray Hubbard for coming aboard as our new vice-president.
Good news! The John Deere groomer is back and supposedly repaired and ready to go.

We extend a big “Thank you” to the Swampsider’s and the 38er’s Snowmobile clubs for their offer to help us with our grooming. We had representation from both clubs at our November meeting.
Jim Jackson will be handling all of the paperwork, and planning for the trail system. If you can think of anything to help him, give him a call....... “Thanks” Jim. A lot of work has been done on our trails with clearing and rerouting around some of the hazardous areas, and repairing “summer damage”.

Start planning for a weekend of fun:
Our winter weekend will be held at the Silver Rapids Lodge (1-800-950-9425) near Ely, February 9, 10, and 11, 2007. We are talking to Suzetter, who seems ready to please.
Our Saturday night buffet dinner will be $21.95 plus tax and gratuity in our own special room.
Prime rib and an alternate of chicken breast (upon request), mashed potatoes, gravy, 2 vegetables, roll and salad.
My reservation is in. I want to make sure I won’t be “winter camping”.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!
